Acid Neutralizers

Acid in your water can cause it to appear cloudy or hazy, have an objectionable color, taste, or odors, and increase the pH level of the water. An acid neutralizer can help eliminate stains and pinhole leaks in plumbing due to acid wear.

The water should be treated with an automatic neutralizer system filled with minerals that naturally contain magnesium carbonates and calcite that dissolve into the well water and make it less corrosive. Sometimes this will inadvertently alter the hardness of the water, so it is common to install a neutralizer and softener when treating water. About every five years, the neutralizer should be drained completely and have fresh minerals added. The media in the system will dissolve over time and requires annual servicing.
